Hyperbolic Functions

The hyperbolic functions are similar to the trig functions. They are hyperbolic sine, hyperbolic cosine, etc. Their similarity comes from the definition of each of the functions and the last way (above) for writing sine and cosine in terms of exponentials.

The other hyperbolic functions are similarly defined. (ie. the hyperbolic secant is the reciprocal of the hyperbolic cosine, etc.)
