Chemistry in Action Demonstration Show

Saturday, October 27, 2018 – 11am

Cleary Family Auditorium

St. John Fisher College

3690 East Ave, Rochester, NY

This first Annual Chemical Demonstration Show is presented by the new Chemical Demonstration Center at St. John Fisher College, co-sponsored by SJFC Chemistry Department and the Rochester Section of the American Chemical Society.  This Center will provide a resource to the Rochester community to promote the central role of Chemistry in our everyday lives and the economic development of the area.  This family friendly event, free and open to the public, will illustrate basic chemical principles through entertaining and informative demonstrations illustrating properties of materials and their chemical reactions.  Following the Show, there will be a Reception featuring Posters/Displays from area companies and research by area college students. This event will offer an opportunity, especially for elementary & high school students, to learn about both an important science and the broad range of careers that require a knowledge of chemistry, and talk to chemists working at area colleges and industry.

(Free parking for the event is provided at the parking lot C. Check the SJFC Campus map: http://www.sjfc.edu/media/global/documents/ParkingMap.pdf)
