Dr. Wood brings a rich and diverse background to the School of Education.  He joined the faculty in September, 2004 and has worked in local schools as a teacher and Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

His Ed. D. was awarded by the University of Rochester in Curriculum and Teaching in 1988.  Dr. Wood attended Wheelock College in Boston where he earned his M. S. in Early Childhood Education and MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois where he received a B. A. in Business and Economics.

Dr. Wood is dedicated to social justice issues. He has received many awards and honors including the Diversity Innovation Award from the college in 2007. He is actively involved in collaborative ventures with the Rochester CSD and the college and in Wayne County where he has dedicated over 40 years to professional educational practice and community organizing while living and teaching in Sodus.  His writings and presentations reflect a broad range of interests and expertise including multicultural, migrant and rural education, student achievement in diverse schools and effective instructional strategies.
