Dr. Erklenz-Watts joined the
SJFC School of Education in September, 1999. She is now a
tenured Associate Professor who has served as Chair of the
undergraduate program and Director of the graduate program.
She currently teaches in both programs. Previously she
worked as a Special Education Teacher in the Rochester City School District
from 1990-1999 and as a Neuropsychometrist from 1989-1998.
Dr. Erklenz-Watts earned her Ph.D. in
Curriculum, Instruction and Change in 2000 from the University of Rochester. Her undergraduate studies
included Bachelor of Arts degrees in elementary education and
psychology at Nazareth College of Rochester in 1989. She
earned her Masters in General Education a year later from the same

but because of my Dad's job I have lived in:
New York, Illinois, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma. I attended nine different
schools before graduating from high school. I decided to come
back to Rochester for college and
haven't left. Most of my family ended up back here too.
Mom and my 2 older sisters live in Rochester
and my younger brother lives near Boston.
I am married to Miles who is an elementary school teacher in Rush-Henrietta School District. We met and fell in
love during a group assignment while taking courses at U of R.
We now have two children, Veronica, "Ronnie," and Duncan, "DJ". We love to be outside
together just playing, camping, hiking or whatever!
