The Workplace Covenant

A. The Workplace Covenant© (2009/patent-pending) process works well in five situations:

·       Where there is a new manager, who needs to ‘hit the ground running’ and have his/her team go through “form, storm, norm” and get to ‘perform’ quickly

·       Where there is low trust, or conflict, between a manager and his/her staff

·       Where a team wants to go from “good to great”, that is, they are functioning pretty well, but desire to do better and get to the “next level”

·       Where managers who are being trained in leadership, given 360 feedback, or are receiving executive coaching, need a practical way to strengthen trust and relationship with their staff

·       And finally, where there are two groups or departments that need to work better together.

B. The Workplace Covenant session typically requires about two hours for a new team, and closer to three hours for an existing team (or relationship), particularly if there are ‘issues’.

C. Each team will complete a Workplace Covenant Review process which takes about 90 minutes, at approximately two months following the initial session.

D. Dr. Silver’s typical corporate rate to conduct a Workplace Covenant session, as a stand-alone workshop (i.e. not a part of a larger teambuilding, or leadership session) is $1,500. For those teams participating in the research study, the rate will be $750 per team.  This includes the initial session and the review two months later.

The Workplace Covenant Research Project

The research team, headed by Dr. Tim Franz at St. John Fisher College, is working to assess the value of completing the Workplace Covenant to organizations (and publish the results). We are working together to identify at least ten (and preferably more) groups in organizations willing to commit to at least one Workplace Covenant session, a Covenant Review meeting, and completing relevant follow-up questionnaires.

We recognize the importance of your role in our research project, including asking that your employees complete surveys at three different times (and perhaps be interviewed). Because of this, we commit to giving you a report of the findings about the impact of the Covenant on your group (and the overall research findings as well) benchmarked against the average of the other groups involved.
