Lesson Plan Incorporating the iGesture Pad

Objective:
The purpose of this lesson is to educate students on the
history and importance of George Washington and his place in the history of the
United States of America
Overview:
Through the use of an interactive webpage, students will
learn about what George Washington looked like. On the webpage, students will
put a puzzle together that matches the statue of George Washington.
Procedure:
1. I am going to read Meet George Washington by
Patricia A. Pingry to my students.
2. I am going to pass out a worksheet for the students to
complete and to be handed in to be graded.
3. Then as a class we will go to the computer lab to do an
puzzle of George Washington
Modifications/Accommodations for Learners with Diverse Needs:
In order to accommodate students with hand-function
limitations, the iGesture Pad will be implemented. It will allow students to
actively and full participate in this lesson. The pad can be used at any
computer station and will allow the student to use the finger activated mouse
alternative to navigate through the interactive webpage. Students will need to
use the pad to scroll, select, an click throughout the lesson. Prior knowledge
on how to use the iGesture Pad is recommended so that the student is comfortable
with its navigation features.

Assessment:
I want my students to learn all they can about George
Washington. By reading them Meet George Washington by Patricia A. Pingry
and having them do the puzzle on the computer, it will help them to retain all
the information they can.. I want them to enjoy learning about George
Washington.
