Company: Techcrunch Release Date: Commercial release time frame in not available at this time Version: Crunchpad
Availability: Not yet available
Primary Function: This is a mobile computing device. The goal of this
invention is to build a thin, light touch-screen PC without a
physical keyboard or onboard hard drive. The operating system
will be entirely focused on Web browsing applications. It is
used for reading emails, surfing the web, watching the news, and
videos.
Training: You will just need basic understanding of a touch
screen and how to use the Internet.
Cost: Estimated release price is about $300
Justification:
Even though this product is similar to a Ipod touch and a
laptop, I still think it is a great idea because the screen is
going to be bigger than that of an Ipod and from personal
experience I know it is difficult to touch a specific spot on a
screen when your fingers are so large. If the touch screen is
made with the right sensory or if it comes with a touch screen
adjustment I believe this product will be successful because it
is small, very portable and not to expensive in today's economy.
First Hand Impression:I think this product is a great idea and could be used
effectively in the classroom. I think it will really be
beneficial to have a touch screen computer that can run on
WiFi. From previous observation hours in classrooms, I have
found that many subjects are now taught online through
educational websites. This will give the opportunity for
each student to have one and it does not take up a lot of
space.
