Hardware Brief
Description: The Apple iSight is a webcam developed and marketed by Apple Inc. This is an external unit which connects to a computer via FireWire cable and comes with a set of mounts to place it atop any current Apple display, laptop computer, or all-in-one desktop computer. This product is a camera microphone and microscope all in one. You can hook it up to your computer and interact with anyone across the world.
Pros: The Apple iSight has a stylish design, flawless integration with iChat and iMovie; minimal setup required; provides great images and color quality
Cons: The image settings such as focus, color, brightness, and contrast aren't adjustable; it doesn't work with all instant-messaging applications; and it is a little on the pricey side. This product can only be used on a Macintosh computer. You also need to have high speed internet connection to get the best picture.

Usefulness |
|
|
|
I believe this product is very useful. It allows students to interact with other students in the class and also if they are out due to an illness, they can still participate in the activities of the classroom while being home sick. |

Although it does come with directions, it is a little difficult to hook up and put all together. Once you get the hang of it, it gets easier to operate |
Recommendations: I would recommend this product to any school. It gives the student a chance to interact with someone who lives in a different state or country. The student who is absent and has the iSight at home is able to keep up with the rest of their peers when they are absent. It does cost a bit of money but it's a great purchase for any school districts. Students who need help with instruction or who can only learn with visual stimulation can also benefit from this product.
