Primary Function
This pen can be used for a thesaurus, a dictionary, a
Spanish to English translator and has an auditory capability to read aloud when
the pen is scrolled over English text.
Training
The Reading Pen has a user manual and a training feature
available under options for further assistance.
Justification
This product is suited for anyone who struggles with ELA,
is learning ESL, and anyone who has other literacy/cognitive learning
disabilities.
First Hand
Impression
I struggled with using this product. I found that the words
were hard to scan. I needed to scan the word multiple times. If the words did
scan, the Reading Pen didn't recognize all of them. I believe availability to a
computer would be more efficent than this pen. The pen would also be hard to
grip for those with little hands, or those that don't have very good fine-motor
skills. In the picture below is a adult holding the pen; Now imagine a
student whose hands are half the size trying to hold it.
