About Me:

I was born and
raised in Rochester, NY. My parents were great role models and always
emphasized the value of education. I began “playing school” with a small
chalkboard even before entering elementary school and was president of the
Future Teachers Club in high school. I have an ongoing interest in leadership,
reading, learning and discourse . My parents,
having been raised by immigrant parents, impressed upon me the critical
importance of hard work, perseverance and equity. As a result, I had the
privilege in much of my adult life of championing the beauty and
contributions of the children of the city of Rochester. The privilege
of serving Rochester's children and families occurred over three decades as a
teacher, special education administrator, principal and assistant
superintendent in the Rochester City School District. The totality of
these experiences prepared me well for the School of Education’s conceptual
framework of social justice, diversity, achievement, compassion, knowledge
and service. |
