Parameterized Curves

An important use of calculus is describing curves and motions along curves. For example, we may want to describe the motion of a planet around the sun. We will start with a general discussion of curves. Next we will introduce the necessary notation and discuss various important quantities as well as some common curves and their parameterizations. A neat application involing constrained optimization is given at the end.
